NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians in various fields.
While celebrating NAIDOC week, Karningul students and staff enjoyed a barbeque joined by Aboriginal elders Aunty Bev and Vicky Markna, as well as special guests, George Rose, Trent Rose, Samantha Harris, Shana Barney, and Kevin McGuiness.
Students used this opportunity to spend time with the elders, as well as meeting with some Aboriginal role models.
